The Rams special teams are – and have been – a mess.
One of the group’s first chances on Sunday made things even more complicated.
After scoring his first field goal with Los Angeles, Blake Grupe was injured while attempting to make a tackle on a kickoff return. The Rams didn’t cover the kick well, with returner Devin Duvernay nearly reaching midfield before Grupe punched him out of bounds.
But Grupe injured his knee during the game and is now doubtful to return.
According to several journalists at the scene, punter Ethan Evans was practicing kicking the net on the sidelines.
