Respawn Entertainment and DICE working on a new Battlefront title

A new report claims that DICE and Respawn Entertainment are working on a new project at EA, which will be a new Battlefront title.

Rumors of a new Battlefront title surfaced earlier this week, but Bloomberg is now reporting that Respawn Entertainment and DICE are developing it.

The new Battlefront is in development

It’s not yet known exactly what the game will entail, but we can obviously expect the title to be called Battlefront 3.

Shortly after the release of Battlefront 2 in 2017, EA management shut down a sequel (Battlefront 3) due to the 20% licensing fee Disney was taking on the project.

In 2021, I was told that EA executives believed they could make more money for the same amount of work through this (referring to the simple development of new Battlefield titles).

As for what this new decision means for the future of Battlefield, Insider Gaming understands that the next Battlefield title is in the early stages of development, but is not expected to release for some time. Speculatively, this will likely be a title due in late 2028 at the earliest.

The news comes amid a new Battlefront title, as EA made a flurry of announcements today, including the cancellation of the upcoming Mass Effect game and the complete shutdown of BioWare, which will leave 400 developers out of work.
