Ric Flair returned to the same bar the night after a bloody fall that sent him to the hospital
Ric Flair suffered a nasty fall, broke his face and spent the night in the hospital – but that apparently wasn’t enough to keep him away from his usual bar. The WWE Hall of Famer returned to the same facility the following night, the same day he was released from the hospital.
During the October 25, 2026 edition of Wrestling Observer RadioMeltzer revealed that Flair had been drinking at a bar near his Florida home before the October 23 incident. According to Meltzer, Flair visits this establishment regularly and it is close enough to his home that he does not even need to drive there.
“Ric Flair, he was drinking. So he was supposed to be in Seattle for, you know, an autograph story. And I guess he had some blood clot issues, so he wasn’t allowed to fly.”
Flair had already canceled his scheduled autograph session in Seattle due to a blood clot in his leg. Doctors had restricted his movements and Flair announced the cancellation Friday morning. Meltzer explained that the Nature Boy then went to his usual drinking spot, which is apparently part of his daily routine.
“So he said the bar he was at was the bar he was always at. It’s his house. It’s right next to his house. He doesn’t have to drive to get there, he can walk there. And he goes there early in the morning, and it’s his day.”
Things got ugly when Flair came out. Meltzer said Flair left his phone at the establishment before attempting to cross the street, where he suffered a fall that left him with a bloody head injury and significant damage around his eye.
“And he went over there, and I’m not sure exactly what happened. He had left his phone, so he wasn’t leaving, but he went to cross the street and fell and hit his head, which really hurt his eyes.”
Flair was taken to Tampa General Hospital after the fall, where he spent the night before being released on October 24. However, Meltzer revealed that Flair was already back at the same bar that night, despite everything that happened the day before.
“You know, he was hospitalized. He’s out of the hospital. He’s fine. He’s in the same place as he was yesterday morning, tonight. So there you go. You know, that doesn’t even keep him at home.”
This is the part of the story that raises some eyebrows. Flair had just spent the night receiving medical treatment for head and eye injuries, but returned to the same facility he had visited before the accident. Meltzer didn’t say exactly when Flair was released or how much time passed before he returned, only that he was back there the next night.
Flair previously broke his silence about the incident on October 24, sharing a photo of his injured face with a bandage covering his right eye. He thanked hospital staff for treating him until 4:30 a.m. and assured fans he was focused on his recovery.
“Thank you all for the messages and prayers! I will respond to you individually as I get stronger. Thank you to all the staff at Tampa General Hospital and the doctors who put up with me until 4:30 a.m. I appreciate you all and thank you for everything you have done for me! I am focused on my healing and recovery right now. Everything will be okay!”
Flair’s daughter, Charlotte Flair, addressed the Ultimate Warrior explanation while reassuring fans that her father would be fine. She revealed that he even joked with his doctor about the old wrestling incident.
“It’s not my father who tells the doctor that he fell because a warrior dropped him on his head… (ps: he’s going to be okay)”
Meltzer didn’t seem particularly surprised by Flair’s decision to return to the bar. After discussing the hospitalization, the fall and Flair’s explanation for the vertigo, he ended with a remark about the 77-year-old’s behavior.
“I think everyone knows that Ric is worried about Ric. That’s just the reality.”
The whole situation comes at a difficult time for Flair, who is already dealing with a blood clot that requires medical attention. Between the canceled appearance, the bloody fall and a night in the hospital, the Nature Boy has had plenty to keep him busy in recent days.
What do you think of Ric Flair returning to the same bar the evening after his hospitalization? Should the Nature Boy take things easier with everything he has going on, or will he just live his life as usual? Let us know what you think and leave your thoughts in the comments.
