Rob Lowe has had a lot of on-screen kisses, dating back to his days as a teen idol in the ’80s.
But the star of The musical He was asked to pick the best kiss he ever had for the cameras during his Sunday appearance on Watch what’s happening liveduring the “Pleading the Fifth” segment.
Lowe, who married Sheryl Berkoff in 1991, had a quick response: “I told you I wasn’t going to plead the fifth. It’s Nastassja Kinski.”
The actress starred with Lowe in 1984. The New Hampshire Hotel.
Jodie Foster, Beau Bridges and Paul McCrane also appeared in the comedy-drama based on a 1981 John Irving novel.
When host Andy Cohen asked Lowe why he chose Kinski, the star of films including the 1984 Paris, Texas and the years 1994 Terminal velocityLowe admitted that he was intimidated by her beauty.
“At that point, she was probably the most beautiful woman I had ever seen,” Lowe said. “I was really scared. I was very, very scared.”

Lowe was also asked about his own status as what Cohen described as “one of the sexiest men in Hollywood in decades.” What was his secret?
“I was kind of pretty,” Lowe said. “There’s no denying it.”
Pressed to name his best asset, he cited his hair, but noted that he drinks “a lot of milkshakes” in order to be in better shape.
The former Brat Packer was dating Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert while filming The New Hampshire Hotel.
Around the same time, Lowe had his breakout role in 1983. The strangerswhich featured a roster of newcomers including Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon and C. Thomas Howell.
Gilbert wrote in his 2009 memoir: Prairie Talethat Lowe cheated on her during their teenage romance with, yes, Kinski, and another actress he worked with, Demi Moore, his co-star in 1986. About Last Night.

But she and Lowe got back together until they separated for good in 1987.
Lowe began dating his future wife in 1989.
