Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds may have been the victim of a new leak, revealing potential characters coming to the game in year two.
As many of you know, SEGA released a massive 2.0.0 update last week. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take long for fans to get to work and datamine the new files. It is thanks to this apparent datamine shared by VocaloidMikuBr that we can get an idea of the characters to come in the future.
First, let’s talk about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC. According to the game files, Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart have entries in the files. To be fair, these aren’t surprising choices – they’re two of the most popular characters in Final Fantasy 7. However, someone might have expected Sephiroth to become the runner against Tifa.
For the free characters, there is someone named “Marisa” in the files. Some speculate that it could be a collaboration with Touhou, but that remains to be seen.
A number of other characters have also been spotted. These include Movie Sonic, Will (potentially from Metaphor: ReFantazio), Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars, and Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter.
Keep in mind that this datamine doesn’t completely reveal everything SEGA has planned for the game. Also, since nothing has been announced, these characters aren’t officially confirmed yet.
In case you missed it, we have the huge patch notes for the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds 2.0.0 update. The game is available on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
