Sabrina Carpenter joined Madonna as one of her surprise guests during her opening performance and didn’t reveal her dress on the red carpet. Instead, she debuted it indoors when she accepted the award for Best Collaboration with Madonna. Carpenter chose a vintage Dolce & Gabbana tiered dress with pom poms and black detailing.
Carpenter was nominated for Artist of the Year, “Tears” for Video of the Year and Man’s Best Friend competed for best album. His duet with Madonna, “Bring Your Love,” was nominated for song of the year and won best collaboration. Her song “House Tour,” meanwhile, was up for best pop, best direction, best editing and song of the summer.

Carpenter recently won her first Emmy. In April, she spoke to Marc Jacobs for Perfect magazine about the control she exercises over her tours, videos and album covers.
“It’s changed over the last five years,” she said. “In 2021, I signed with Island Records. That was the start of everything changing and I felt really in control of what I was doing. Everything you just said – the videos, the covers, the merch, the tour especially – it was something that clicked one day, and I just realized, ‘Oh my God, this is what makes me special and unique. “There’s a lot more hats to wear and a lot more work to do, but it’s these little changes that, if I did it with someone telling me what to do, it wouldn’t feel so personal. I work a lot with my sister (Sarah Carpenter). She’s been my creative partner in almost everything I do. We kind of share a brain. She just has such an incredible creative eye. She’s a great photographer. She just has incredible taste. We’ve been the best friends all our lives, so she knows me better than anyone.
“I love collaborating with incredible directors, filmmakers and writers,” she added. “That’s where I’m really excited, being able to bring different worlds together. But she’s the constant throughline for me.”
