Samsung updated these Galaxy devices to Android 17

Samsung is currently rolling out its Android 17-based update, One UI 9, to its collection of supported Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Here’s the full list of devices that have been updated so far and what you need to know about the update.
What’s new in Android 17 on Samsung Galaxy?
One UI 9, Samsung’s Android 17 update, continues the trend of evolution rather than redesign. The update introduces some slight design tweaks, more AI-based features, and other changes based on the redesign that debuted in One UI 7 and was iterated in last year’s Android 16-based One UI 8.
Some key changes in One UI 9 include:

- Wider support for Now Nudge
- My FanCam automatic video cropping based on a selected subject
- More quick panel customization (quick settings)
- AI Privacy Alerts
- Upgrades to Samsung DeX
- New lock screen clocks that can fit your wallpaper

There are also several new types of suggestions, like entering booking details or addresses and saving places in Google Maps.

Warranty and maintenance

Lock your phone quickly

Transparency of location access
- Stay on top of your location privacy. A blue indicator will appear at the top of the screen when an app accesses your location. Tap the indicator in the quick panel to see which app it is.
Enhanced security and privacy
- Alerts will appear in your Now brief to inform you of risks related to malware, apps from unknown sources, unnecessary permissions, and other issues that could put your security and privacy at risk. Applications identified as malicious or vulnerable will not be able to open until you decide whether or not to remove them.
AI Privacy Alerts
- Get help protecting your personal data. The AI will monitor how apps use permissions and notify you of any unnecessary access to your personal data.
