SANTA FE, New Mexico —

The National Weather Service classified the Santa Fe tornado as a high-end EF-1 tornado.

The NWS says the tornado developed in the Via Caballero neighborhood in south Santa Fe, just north of Interstate 25.

The tornado then moved north on a track extending 1.4 miles long with a maximum width of 100 yards wide. The tornado lifted near Santa Fe College.

The NWS says damage was limited to the area along Rancho Siringo and Camino Chueco roads.

Ten homes were damaged by the tornado, along with broken utility poles and uprooted trees.
