Sean Combs transferred to Pennsylvania prison after smuggling case
Sean Combs was transferred to a low-security prison facility in Pennsylvania after he was caught with a contraband cell phone and suffered a head injury while held in solitary confinement.
A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed the decision to rolling stone Friday, saying: “We can confirm that Sean Combs is currently incarcerated at FCI Allenwood Low. For reasons of privacy, safety and security, we do not discuss the conditions of detention of any person in our custody, including the reasons for their transfer.”
Combs spokesman Juda Engelmayer said rolling stone his family had not yet “received official confirmation of any transfer and are unable to speculate on Sean’s placement or the reasons for a possible move.”
“His family and legal team remain focused on his well-being and ensuring that he can maintain regular contact with his loved ones,” adds Engelmayer.
The 56-year-old was serving his 50-month sentence at Fort Dix, a low-security federal facility in New Jersey after being convicted last summer of transportation to engage in prostitution. His top legal team had argued for Combs to be sent to Fort Dix because of its drug rehabilitation program that could shave a year off an inmate’s sentence.
But last month, NBC News published a report detailing how Combs was enjoying a relatively pampered prison stay. The former billionaire allegedly paid thousands of dollars to his fellow inmates in exchange for favors, including cooking him gourmet meals and scrubbing showers and toilets before using them.
Beyond basic “care,” Combs allegedly managed to obtain contraband, including Hennessy alcohol, mood-enhancing antidepressant pills, an unlocked tablet and a cell phone that he used to scroll through Instagram and view nude photos of an ex-girlfriend.
rolling stone examined the Instagram account believed to belong to Combs, which was among 365 accounts followed by his publicist. The anonymous profile follows Combs’ children, longtime family friends who are not public figures, and women romantically linked to Combs. The account reposted videos about Combs’ former girlfriend Yung Miami, 50 Cent and former Bad Boy artist Mase.
Following NBC’s report, Combs had his release date pushed back to March 2028 and was reportedly placed in solitary confinement. And this week, reports emerged that Combs suffered a non-life-threatening head injury over the weekend and was treated at a nearby hospital.
The Bureau of Prisons has denied reports that Combs fought with a major drug lord. “While, for privacy and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of detention of individuals in our custody, we can tell you that the story you are referring to is false and did not happen,” a spokesperson said.
