Sean “Diddly” Combs injured in jail; Release date pushed back due to violations

A trip from prison to the hospital this weekend could be the least of many recent blows to Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Amid stories of luxury indulgences, bootlegging and other luxuries behind bars at FCI Fort Dix, the much-accused founder of Bad Boy Records has had his release date pushed back nearly two months.

Sentenced to a much-anticipated 40-plus day sentence, Combs is currently scheduled to leave the New Jersey minimum-security facility on March 2, 2028. With a release date that has literally gone up and down since Diddy was sentenced in September 2025 to a 50-month sentence (with time served) after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution by a New York jury in July 2025, the Grammy winner was most recently scheduled to be released in January. 21, 2028.

In early October, Bureau of Prisons sources told Deadline that Combs would face “serious consequences” for his violations of sneaking a smartphone into Ft. Ten, along with good liquor and a paid staff of other inmates. Immediately afterward, Diddy was placed in solitary confinement. It is unclear when or if he was returned to the general population of this generally comfortable facility.

What is known is that on October 10, Combs was taken to Ft. Ten to a nearby hospital with head trauma.

Details of the incident, first reported by TMZ and confirmed by Deadline, are thin on the how, who and why. Officially, the BoP, almost always circumspect, did not respond Monday to Deadline’s request for information on his medical condition and his incarceration. However, the convict was returned to Ft. Ten Saturday night, I was told.

Combs’ rep gave some insight into the situation and the confusion that seems to surround it.

“We are aware of the information regarding Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances,” Juda Engelmayer told me this morning. “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has contacted us. »

Facing multiple civil lawsuits and a possible sexual assault indictment by the Los Angeles District Attorney, Combs was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges two years ago at his high-profile trial in Manhattan. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York failed to convince jurors of the most serious crimes that prosecutors had accused the discolored mini-tycoon of. If the defendant had been convicted in a trial filled with filmed sex parties and freak-offs, beatings, drug use, threats, car explosions and alleged hangings of people from balconies, Combs, 56, could have received a life sentence.
