Sean McVay: Rams coaches will learn from incident with Eagles fans
Some Rams assistant coaches didn’t win gracefully Sunday. Videos on social media, show coaches in the team’s booth taunting Eagles fans, with an assistant knocking on a booth window before waving at them.
A cup and a bottle of water are thrown from the stands towards the stand windows in retaliation.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said he and his assistants discussed the incident.
“We will be better in those situations,” McVay said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN.
The Rams rallied for a 24-20 victory over the Eagles, scoring two touchdowns in the final 3:59. The Eagles had a 97.4 percent chance of winning with 8 minutes, 17 seconds left.
McVay said he understood the excitement and emotion, explaining that he found himself in a similar situation as Washington called plays in Philadelphia.
“We will learn from this,” McVay said. “We’ll be better. These fans are really interested, but I know we want to make sure we represent the class and just the calm and stability that we want to have while still being emotionally involved. And there are ways to reflect that.
“We’ve talked about it, and it won’t be a problem moving forward.”
