A statewide search is underway for a man who fatally shot three of his co-workers at a business in Manassas, Virginia, early Wednesday morning, police said.
Marvin Grant, 37, shot the three men at United Rentals on Wellington Road around 7 a.m. before fleeing the area, Manassas City Police Chief Douglas Keen said.
The victims are all in critical condition and are in a nearby hospital. Their lives are in danger, police said.
Grant could be driving a gray Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla with temporary North Carolina tags, Keen said. Police described him as a light-skinned black man, approximately 5’9″, with brown eyes and brown hair.

Investigators believe Grant left the Northern Virginia area and they have been conducting surveillance on him with police departments across the state, Keen said.
“We know he fled the area. We don’t know where he’s headed,” Keen said.
Police said anyone who sees Grant should not approach him and call 911 immediately.

“Our working theory is that there was some sort of altercation that led to this,” Keen said.
Police asked people to avoid the area and stay indoors while officers investigate. Officers blocked access to Wellington Road and the Highway 28 bypass while searching the area.
Students from nearby Jennie Dean primary school were redirected to Metz middle school.
