The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that injured 11 people at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported to the Mâcon-Bibb 911 emergency center shortly after midnight on Sunday.
Police officers were visiting the park to investigate reports of a shooting at a large gathering. Along the way, deputies received reports that several victims were arriving at a local medical facility in personal vehicles for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Four 18-year-old men, five 17-year-old men and two 18-year-old women were treated for their injuries, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Medical personnel reported that an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old man were in critical condition. The other nine victims are listed in stable condition.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is working to determine what led to the shooting.
Investigators have not released additional details about any possible suspect(s).
