Shocking video shows teenagers on jet skis capsizing small boat with children on board
Breathtaking footage showing two teenagers on jet skis appearing to capsize a small boat with two children inside has angered residents.
The shocking clip was filmed in the Nerang River on Australia’s Gold Coast, near Surfers Paradise, over the weekend.
It appears to show two out-of-control jet skis driving dangerously through the water near the small boat and spraying it with water, causing it to capsize.
Queensland Police confirmed the two occupants of the boat were children aged 10 and 14.

Queensland Police confirmed the two occupants of the boat were children aged 10 and 14.
Fortunately, both boys escaped the incident unharmed.
Two older teenagers, aged 15 and 16, now face charges of dangerous operation of a vessel and assault.
The two parties did not know each other.
“Police have identified and intercepted the drivers of two jet skis following a marine incident in Surfers Paradise on October 4,” Queensland Police confirmed in a statement to news.com.au.
“At around 1:40 p.m., police received reports of a boat that had capsized on the Nerang River due to dangerous jet skis operating nearby.
“Police attended and helped the uninjured occupants, two boys aged 14 and 10, to recover the vessel.
“The drivers of the jet skis are two boys aged 15 and 16.
They each face charges of dangerous operation of a vessel and assault.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the incident was “unfathomable” at a press conference earlier today and confirmed he would look into increasing security in the area.
“I’m going to speak to the Queensland Police, particularly the Water Police, to see if they have enough resources.
“We could consider installing more cameras so we can pursue prosecutions, which would have a deterrent effect.
“I hope the footage can reveal who it is and we can capture it.”
Gold Coast man Robert Collin took the footage and condemned the riders’ actions, adding that the spot where the boat capsized was the same spot where they had caught bull sharks a few weeks earlier.
“The jet skis were very aggressive towards the boat and didn’t bother to see if the two young victims were OK after they rolled the boat,” Collin told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
“The propeller was still spinning and the children could easily have been trapped or stunned and drowned.”
Collin added that it’s not the first time he’s seen something like this happen in the area, calling it “pure stupidity.”
The disturbing images shocked residents on social media, with many calling on the teenagers to remove their jet skis.
“They have to take their jet skis and their cars, this behavior is not allowed,” one said.
“It’s time these idiots are held accountable.” »
“This happens every weekend at the Nerang boat ramp,” said another.
“These are the electric bikes of the ocean.”
