‘SNL’ Reveals the Depth of Donald Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize Delusion
Colin Jost ridiculed the president for his “genuine anger” over the Nobel committee’s decision.
“Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost mercilessly mocked President Donald Trump for insisting he deserved a Nobel Peace Prize.
“Trump kidnapped the president of Venezuela, and then he waged so much war that we ran out of missiles, and he was still thinking, ‘This is my year,’” Jost said.
“It’s really like I was thinking I could win an Oscar for Tom and Jerry,” THE SNL star added.
He delivered the punchline in front of a photo of Jost in 2021. Tom and Jerry– a film widely criticized by critics.
The joke followed Trump’s insult of Nobel Peace Prize winner Navi Pillay at a recent rally. Trump described her as “a liberal person who works at the United Nations that no one has ever heard of.”

Colin Jost discusses who won the Nobel Prize — and who didn’t — on “SNL.”
Co-anchor Michael Che told perhaps the segment’s darkest joke when he addressed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s controversial announcement that the U.S. military would soon livestream the execution of a prisoner.
“The Pentagon announced that the execution of the Fort Hood shooter would be broadcast live, which would be the first public execution in the United States since, I would like to say, a few weeks ago?” Che said, as the screen showed a photo of ICE agents raiding a house.
Some of the audience, who likely remember ICE’s shooting of a 28-year-old New York resident on Thursday, groaned at Che’s joke. Che added: “I ruined the fun.”

Che, however, won the audience back with his next ICE joke: “ICE agents are apparently starting to use anti-shock gloves, which leave no marks and cause incredible pain, hopefully to an agent who forgets to take them off at the urinal,” Che said to loud applause.
Picking up material from the episode’s cold open, Jost referenced Pete Hegseth’s new “War Department” logo.
“Hegseth is being criticized for its new War Department logo that features an angular eagle similar to that used by the Nazis,” Jost said. “Hegseth asked how upset people were about this, on a scale from here to here.”
Jost made an uncomfortable hand gesture similar to a Nazi salute. He then implored the audience: “Don’t do it as a GIF, guys. »
