‘SNL’ Roasts Mayor Zohran Mamdani With ‘Urgent Message’ for New Yorkers During Northeast

Mayor Zohran Mamdani was roasted on the Season 52 premiere of “Saturday Night Live” hosted by Knicks MVP Jalen Brunson.

In the cold open of “SNL,” set at the Upper East Side’s Grace Mansion, Hizzoner is played by comedian Ramy Youssef, filming an “urgent message” for New Yorkers as the city braces for the impact of the impending Northeast storm.

In the sketch, Mamdani is seen filming a TikTok video telling Gothamites to “shelter in place, y’all” dancing to upbeat club music, despite the severity of the approaching brutal storm.

President Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, also made an appearance at Hizzoner’s home during the opening and pointed out that the two Poles were both from Queens.

This cold open came after Mamdani invited Trump to Gracie Mansion for a high-stakes meeting earlier this week, continuing the streak of love fests for this political odd couple.

“I’ve seen it with many different mayors, and I’ve said some are great and some are not so good. So I hope you’re going to be a great mayor. I’ll be able to say you’re going to be a great mayor, and you’re off to a great start,” Trump said at a news conference after their meeting.

“SNL” doubled down on the buddy love fest, with Trump telling Mamdani that he “missed my first day” in the sketch.

Johnson’s version of Trump then called Hizzoner “Mam-dreamy,” while reciting the iconic “Greys Anatomy” line, “pick me, pick me, love me.”

Trump’s infamous political aide Natalie Harp crashed the sketch, looking drenched in northeastern rain, with mascara running down her face.

Played by Ashley Padilla, Harp said she “ran here from DC like a gun,” joking that maybe President Trump needed her for something.

Near the end of the opening period, Mamdani tells Trump he has to “get back to work” and Trump insists he is staying with the left-wing mayor because he “loves spending time with you.”

“Only if you give us $21 billion for a housing project in Queens,” demands Hizzoner.

“Are you crazy?” jokes Trump.

“How about I follow you on Instagram,” Mamdani suggests, to which Trump responds: “It’s a fait accompli.”
