The rock band Turnstile debuted on Saturday evening live featuring the first single and a two-song medley from their Grammy Award-winning album Never enough.

The Baltimore-based hardcore band, the night after their show at Austin City Limits, opened with “Birds.” The song won best metal performance at the Grammys in February.

Never enoughthe group’s fourth album after 2021 Shine onwon Best Rock Album at the same awards ceremony, in which the band was the first to be nominated simultaneously in the Rock, Alternative and Metal categories. A “reinvented” version of Never enough was released in August.

Later SNLthe band played a medley of “I Care” and “Dull,” which was anything but.

Turnstile wrote all fourteen songs on their latest album. Its title song, said singer Brendan Yates rolling stone last December, “has existed in my head for a long time”.

“It was about a lot of different life experiences — the feeling that love always falls short, or the feeling that it fails to have a lasting impact. That feeling of constantly chasing and reaching. It can be a pattern that, if you’re stuck in it, it’s really hard to escape,” he said. “We knew right away, when this song found its shape, that it set the stage for what this record was supposed to be. It spoke to a lot of the last years of our lives, since the last album.”
