Star Wars Galactic Racer Developers Reveal They Have Big Plans For More Content
Star Wars Galactic Racer is going to receive more content and developers Fuse Games will ensure that community requests are a priority.
In a new interview with The Games Business, Fuse Games co-founder and CEO Matt Webster was asked a lot of questions and he revealed some very interesting information about the game’s development. Additionally, he shared the team’s thoughts on future content and updates to the game.
Not the end of the race
When asked about what’s next for Galactic Racer, Matt made it clear that he has absolutely no intention of abandoning the game now that it’s out, saying “We definitely don’t want this to be a launch and that’s it, we’re done.”
Earlier this year, Webster was cautious about expectations for post-launch content. Now that the game is out and appears to have been a huge success with “phenomenal” pre-order numbers, the team can focus on creating more experiences.
Player First
Probably the most striking part of the CEO’s response regarding more content is the studio’s willingness to listen to fan feedback. Although Fuse Games has a lot of ideas according to Webster, the most important thing is that they take into account what players want.
Now it’s in the hands of the community, Webster tells The Game Business. We have to see, we have to think, we have to watch, we have to hear, we have to listen, we have to participate with the players.“before rushing to make DLC for example. What the fans say will do it”inform some of the ideas“Fuse already has it but also”determine where we will go next and when“.
When will there be more content?

As for when we’ll hear about the plans Fuse Games has in the works, we won’t have to wait too long. The CEO teases that announcements will be made within “weeks and months.” We already know that the party size limit will double in a few weeks and that other major concerns are also being heard.
You can read Matt’s full quote below and it explains why this isn’t a pure boxed game without more updates. This quote has been transcribed and adjusted for clarity:
“We’re going to learn more in the next 72 hours than we ever will in the entire development of this game. We’re going to have a few hundred thousand hours of gameplay on Saturday (October 10), I imagine. And you’ll never test that. So there will be things you discover from a game and a profile that you’ve never seen before. So it’s important for us to address that.
So, clearly, yes, we have ideas about where this can go and what we want to do. We certainly don’t want it to be a launch and that’s it, it’s over, we’re moving on. Modern games and modern players expect there to be expansions and improvements or something and we hope to be able to do things like that for this game.
But the reality is we have to do this in concert with the community and we don’t have all the answers. So we have to see, we have to think, we have to watch, we have to hear, we have to listen, we have to participate with the players and that will help inform some of the ideas that we have and that will help determine where we go next and when. We certainly do, we have ideas and plans in place and we’ll be talking about them, I imagine, in the weeks and months to come. But for the most part, we have to go and see how people respond and react to what we’ve done.
