President that of Donald Trump his loyal base will remain by his side regardless of Tuesday’s results.

New POLITICO poll results show that the majority of voters who supported Asset in 2024 and identifies itself as MAGA I think the party should move closer to the president if the Republicans disappear.

They are more likely to blame Republican candidates for running mediocre campaigns rather than the president for not doing enough to help the party cross the finish line.

The president’s MAGA base has proven time and time again that they will not abandon him. This is true now too, although Trump’s policy decisions have begun to hurt the GOP’s core constituencies, like farmers and ranchers, and as its approval rating declines.

Meanwhile, a significant portion of his less fervent supporters — Asset voters who don’t do it identify as MAGA – feel the opposite.

The survey, conducted by PF Global, reveals a fault line within the Republican coalition that could widen if the party suffers significant losses next week, with Trump’s role in the party at the center.

A majority of MAGA Trump voters – 54% – said that if Republicans lost the House and Senate next week, it would show that the party needs to move closer to Asset and his agenda. Less than a quarter said it would mean the GOP would have to distance itself from him.

The opinions of non-MAGA Trump voters, however, are reversed. A 44% majority of non-MAGA Trump voters said significant losses would mean the party would have to distance itself from Asset and only 31% said Republicans should move closer to him.

It’s a fine line that vulnerable Republican candidates have already had to walk in this cycle: hug the president and risk alienating undecided voters, or break with him and risk upsetting the MAGA base.

As Asset makes a final tour de force in battleground states this weekend, some local Republicans are betting that his ability to mobilize loyal supporters will offset his ability to deter more independent and wary voters.

“At first there seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm,” said Danedri Herbert GOP chairman in Kansas, where Trump will rally Sunday. “There is no one better placed to generate enthusiasm among Republicans than the president Asset .”

Public polls show competitive races in traditional battlegrounds and even in longtime GOP strongholds.

Whether Trump is to blame for a bad Tuesday night depends entirely on who you ask. More than half of MAGA Trump voters blame Republican candidates for running poor campaigns, and only 22% say Asset didn’t help the party enough.

When asked specifically about Ken Paxton the scandal-plagued Republican Senate candidate from Texas, whom Trump helped lead to a successful primary this spring, 41% of MAGA Trump voters say that would be the case. Paxton fault if he loses. Only 13% say it will be because Asset supported the wrong candidate.

The blame game is already underway among top Republican Party operatives and lawmakers. Some Republicans have been unwilling to blame the president, instead vaguely pointing to a poor national environment or stabbing party committees. Others privately claim that one person, and one person only, put them in this position.

“I think we would still have lost without the high gasoline (and) diesel prices, but it’s too difficult to overcome without that. I’m sure people will quietly blame Asset but I’m still not sure they’ll have the courage to do it publicly,” said a GOP operative working on the midterm races, requesting anonymity to speak candidly about the landscape.
