Stock futures were little changed late Monday as traders looked to rally after a session in which stocks fell again due to pressure from rising Treasury yields.

Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures only increased by 19 points. S&P 500 Futures Contracts traded just above the flat line with Nasdaq-100 Futures Contracts.

THE Dow fell more than 300 points in regular trading, while the S&P500 And Nasdaq Composite lost 0.8% and 0.9%, respectively.

In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 1.11% on Tuesday, while the Topix fell 1.67%. South Korea Kospi lost 0.4% and the small-cap Kosdaq fell 0.78%. that of Hong Kong Hang Seng Index fell 0.57% while the CSI 300 is down 0.29%. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index bucked the trend and traded 0.1% higher.

Treasury yields continued to rise as investors feared that persistent inflation could lead to a rate hike from the Federal Reserve. The reference Cash flow at 10 years bond yields ended the day above 5.2%, close to levels not seen since 2007. 30 years topped 5.56%, trading around a 2004 high.

“Despite broad-based strength in the economy, stock markets appear to be concerned about the potential future consequences of rising interest rates, with daily rate movements increasingly dictating overall market performance,” Brent Schutte, CIO of Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management, said in an article.

“Higher interest rates create both opportunities and challenges for investors. Despite the consternation surrounding their rise, bonds offer more attractive entry points today than at any time in nearly 20 years, assuming the Federal Reserve keeps inflation in check,” he added.

Investors will receive new data on Tuesday that could influence Treasury yields. September U.S. consumer confidence numbers are due at 10 a.m. ET, along with the August Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey.

Wall Street will also be keeping an eye on AMD. The chipmaker announced the acquisition of AI company World Labs for $8.2 billion. AMD shares were little changed after hours.
