Futures contracts linked to the Nasdaq-100 fell Thursday evening after shares of Amazon and Intel fell following the companies’ latest quarterly results.

Nasdaq-100 Futures Contracts lost 1.7%, while futures linked to the S&P500 slipped 0.7%. Dow Jones Futures fell 13 points.

In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 2.61% while the Topix fell 1.33%. THE Kospi was down more than 5%, while the small-cap Kosdaq was down 3.72%. The Australian reference S&P/ASX200 was 0.65% higher. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.55%, while mainland China’s CSI 300 fell 1.21%.

Amazon Shares lost 6% in extended trading after the company reported third-quarter earnings and revenue that fell short of Wall Street expectations. The company also reported negative free cash flow of $42.4 billion and maintained its 2026 capital spending guidance at $220 billion.

Intel slipped 21% after issuing a weak outlook for the current quarter, pointing to a slowdown in the PC sector. Revenue in the company’s customer computing and physical artificial intelligence group decreased 5% from the same quarter last year, to $8.1 billion.

Sandisk also fell in extended trading, down 3%, although its first-quarter results beat estimates. The data storage company announced an eight-for-one forward stock split.

The declines come as investors scrutinize the AI business.

In regular exchanges on Thursday, Alphabet shares lost 12% after the company missed third-quarter earnings and revenue and posted negative free cash flow of $9.07 billion. Google parent slide slid the Nasdaq Composite to a loss of 1.4% in the regular session, while the S&P 500 fell 0.3%.

Friday marks the last trading day of October. It’s been a tough month for the AI business, with investors paying close attention to construction-related company spending. Hyperscalers Alphabet and Microsoft have not raised their investment forecasts.

At the same time, neoclouds – the cloud computing companies behind the infrastructure needed for AI data centers – are facing investor scrutiny over their debt levels. CoreWeavewhich experienced an increase in its bond yields, is an illustration of this concern; shares fell 30% in October. Nebius is heading towards a drop of 27% over the month.

The Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM), which includes AI Memory, Micron and Seagate Technology, is down 14% in October, while the iShares AI Innovation and Tech Active ETF (BAI) is down 10%.

As traders prepare to wrap up the month, the Nasdaq Composite is headed for a 2.5% decline. The S&P 500 is on track to advance 0.9%, while the Dow is on track to advance 2.8%.
