U.S. stock futures were little changed early Wednesday after the S&P 500 hit a new all-time intraday high and record session close, driven by a rally in technology stocks.

Futures contracts linked to Dow Jones Industrial Average were down 0.08%, or 44 points. S&P 500 Futures Contracts increased by 0.06%, and Nasdaq-100 Futures Contracts was flat.

In Tuesday’s trading, the S&P500 gained 0.58%, marking its fourth consecutive positive session and closing above a level of 7,800 for the first time ever. THE Dow gained 0.49% and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.45%.

Chipmakers were the big winners on Tuesday, with Marvell Technology gaining 5.8% thanks to higher revenue forecasts and Advanced microdevices climbing 2.8% after Citi raised its price target, citing growing demand for central processing units.

In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index fell 0.77%, while South Korea’s Kospi fell 1.11%. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 index was stable%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 0.53%. The mainland China market remained closed for the Golden Week holiday.

Bond yields took a break on Tuesday after the steady rise they began in late February, coinciding with the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

THE Cash flow at 10 years The yield last traded at 5.286% after hitting its highest level since April 2002 on Monday. Cash flow over 30 years the yield last hovered at 5.661% and the 2-year yield slipped to 4.798%.

Despite the reprieve, investors warned Tuesday of a decline in foreign demand for U.S. debt amid geopolitical pressures.

“The Chinese don’t want to continue accumulating,” investor Ray Dalio told Bloomberg. “When you have a debtor-creditor relationship and an adversarial relationship, it’s a very difficult dynamic.”

Energy prices remained stable on Tuesday, providing further support for the stock rally. West Texas Intermediate crude oil and global benchmark Brent crude ended up less than 1% in daily trading.

Investors are awaiting minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting in September, where the U.S. central bank raised interest rates for the first time since 2023. The minutes will be released on Wednesday and will shed light on how monetary policymakers view economic conditions.
