‘Stop whining’: Vance dismisses Republican criticism of Ramaswamy ad
vice-president J.D. Vance dismissed criticism of controversial ad from Ohio GOP gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy campaign Wednesday, criticizing Republicans for appearing more concerned with playing nice than winning elections.
“I have to admit that I’m a little disgusted when I see Republicans across the country complaining more about this ad than about what Congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America.” Vance said during a press conference before a campaign event with Ramaswamy and the senator from Ohio. John Husted.
Ramaswamy has faced strong backlash across the political spectrum in recent days over the ad, which featured denunciations of the mother of Amy Actonthe Democrat with whom he is engaged in a tight battle for control of the once reliably Republican state. Acton was kicked out of her mother’s home after her stepfather was accused of raping her. She was separated from her mother for a long time.
Ramaswamy admitted his campaign was behind the ad Tuesday, a day after his first revelation.
