πŸŒ€ SUBTROPICAL STORM: Subtropical Storm Josephine formed a few hundred miles off the Mid-Atlantic coast this evening, bringing the threat of damaging winds and coastal flooding over the next few days.

The storm is expected to move north-northeast before turning northeast and moving away from the East Coast by Friday. This could briefly affect the Atlantic Canada region as it moves offshore.

Gusty winds are expected to spread across parts of the Northeast beginning Wednesday evening and continuing through Thursday.

WHAT IS AN INVESTMENT DURING HURRICANE SEASON?

Long Island and eastern Massachusetts could see wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph, while Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard could see gusts exceeding 50 mph on Thursday.

Showers are also possible in Cape Cod and Rhode Island, although precipitation totals are expected to remain light. The wind and rain are expected to ease by this weekend.

WHAT IS COASTAL EROSION AND WHY IS IT DANGEROUS?

According to FOX Forecast Center, Josephine will cause coastal flooding in parts of the East Coast.

For most areas outside the Chesapeake Bay, Wednesday afternoon’s high tide was the last period of coastal flooding.

However, moderate coastal flooding may persist in parts of the Chesapeake Bay through Thursday or early Friday.
