Suspect arrested after man shot in arm during fight at Riverchase Galleria
HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – A suspect was arrested Friday evening in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham after a 20-year-old man was shot in the arm during a fight at the Riverchase Galleria Friday afternoon.
The Hoover Police Department responded to shots fired at the mall just before noon, in the area of the food court.
Police said this was not a random act of violence and that initial evidence indicated the suspect and victim knew each other and got into a fight that ended in a shooting.
The victim – identified only as a 20-year-old man from Birmingham – was shot and taken to hospital. He was treated for his injuries and released.
