The “Euphoria” star’s daring sequel probably won’t appeal to his detractors.

Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney has launched the sequel to her highly controversial ad for a nude sports app, and it’s unlikely to win over the critics of the original.

The 29-year-old Euphoria The bombshell went viral in September for appearing without clothes in a campaign for sports prediction app Novig, of which Sweeney is also a strategic partner and shareholder. In the video, she poses nude with various sports equipment, quickly sparking a lot of backlash, including from professional athletes who thought the ads were sexualizing women’s sports.

On Sunday, the actress doubled down on her polarizing campaign by releasing a new Instagram video that leaves little to the imagination.

Sydney Sweeney spent most of the 30-second commercial topless in white underwear, with her hair covering her breasts.

The video begins with Sweeney, also a strategic partner and shareholder of Novig, walking away from the camera topless, wearing only a pair of white underwear with the brand’s name written on it.

“There are grown men doing spreadsheets to bet on what color underwear I wear,” Sweeney says to the camera, only her hair strategically covering her breasts. “I mean…am I flattered?”

Sydney Sweeney has shrugged off criticism that she was “sexualizing women’s sports” and once again used footballs to cover her breasts.

“There’s insider trading about the deaths of dictators and armies of robots manipulating it all. There’s someone sitting in the toilet betting their $401,000 on a war,” she continues.

“And then there are people who just trade on sports.”

Then the video cuts to a close-up of Sweeney looking at the camera, covering her breasts with two soccer balls, as she says the brand’s slogan: “Novig, it’s just sport.”

In the comments section, some people questioned the need for nudity in the ad.

“Why do you have to be naked to market sports? What’s the correlation?” » one person asked.

But most of the comments support the star.

“I love that she’s doubling down on hate,” read one comment with over 30,000 likes.

Sydney Sweeney’s first Novig advert caused widespread controversy.

Despite backlash from several prominent athletes and an initial loss of more than 200,000 subscribers, Sweeney’s first Novig ad, complete with several racy photos shown on billboards, proved a success for the company.

According to the Wall Street Journal, early ads helped Novig quadruple its valuation from $500 million to $2 billion at the end of September.

Sweeney, posing here for her brand's shoot, is no stranger to flaunting her flesh.

Sydney Sweeney also does some racy commercials for her underwear brand, Syrn.

In addition to posing nearly nude for Novig, Sweeney does similar, risky commercials for her own lingerie line, Syrn.

In January, she defended her near-nude photos for Syrn in an interview with Cosmopolitan: “This is me reclaiming my body and my narrative and using it to empower other women.”
