Tacko Fall Lands 76ers Contract, Latest Details Revealed in New NBA Rumors Ahead of Season Opener

As NBA teams finalize their rosters for the regular season that begins next week, the Philadelphia 76ers are retaining Tacko Fall on a two-way contract.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Sixers are converting Fall’s deal to a two-way contract after he initially signed an Exhibit 10 contract in September.

Fall returned to the NBA this summer after spending the past four seasons playing overseas in the Chinese Basketball Association. He spent the 2025-26 campaign with the Ningbo Rockets, averaging 11.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in 38 games.

A hip injury suffered early in training camp kept Fall from participating in any of the 76ers’ four preseason games.

The Sixers announced Oct. 1 that Fall had been diagnosed with a hip strain and would be re-evaluated in two weeks. There has been no official update from the club on his status yet.

Philadelphia needs more center depth for the regular season. Joel Embiid will start as long as he is healthy. Adem Bona will likely be head coach Nick Nurse’s primary backup.

Ariel Hukporti, who signed a one-year contract as a free agent this summer, suffered a season-ending injury when he tore his Achilles tendon in a preseason game against the New York Knicks on October 5.

Fall last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he appeared in 11 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played in 37 total games during his first three-season stretch in the league from 2019-22.

A two-way contract allows the 76ers to split Fall’s time with the NBA club and their G League affiliate. He also does not count toward the standard 15-man NBA roster that teams must have finalized by 5 p.m. ET Monday.
