Tech bull Dan Ives flags ‘shock risk’ in Anthropic IPO leak
Anthropic’s (ANTH.PVT) leaked IPO prospectus had some shocking, even terrifying, things to say about artificial intelligence.
The company formally warned investors that its technology could pose “existential risks to humanity,” according to a report citing sources with knowledge of the prospectus.
One senior analyst believed Anthropic’s risk-laden disclosures created more headwinds for the industry.
“I still view this as kind of a shocking risk relative to what I think (is going to happen),” Dan Ives, a Yorkville Ives partner and longtime technology analyst, said on Yahoo Finance’s Sozzi Unleashed. “I think there’s also some alarmism here.”
The alleged financial results also fall into the “shocking” column.
Anthropic saw its 2025 sales increase 1,088% to $4.59 billion, according to a report Monday by Reuters, which saw the company’s IPO prospectus. No official records have yet been made public.

Anthropic lost $41.97 billion last year on a GAAP net basis, compared to a loss of $8.31 billion in 2024.
“I think Anthropic is the heart and lungs of the AI revolution,” Ives said. “And that goes for OpenAI as well.”
“I view you as essentially building a new economy over the next 10 years,” he added.
