  • Teddi Mellencamp, 45, survived cancer that spread to her brain.
  • The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills one former student said the illness and its treatment significantly affected her life.
  • Mellencamp explained her boyfriend’s reaction to all of this on his podcast Friday.

Teddi Mellencamp’s life has been turned upside down by cancer in recent years, including her relationships.

THE The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills a former student cried on her iHeartRadio on Friday Two Ts in a Pod podcast as she described how it affected her bond with boyfriend PJ Conley, who she sometimes calls “Valley Guy.”

The couple, who went Instagram official in August, had a serious conversation recently.

“I went out with Valley Guy last night,” Mellencamp told co-host Dolores Catania, “and we had a really good time at dinner, and then after dinner he said, ‘Should we talk about the future?'”

Mellencamp, who was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022 that later metastasized to his brain and lungs, gave him an honest answer: “I told him, ‘I don’t, you know, I’m just talking day to day, to be perfectly honest. I don’t know if I’m going to be alive in the future. I’m just enjoying where I am, you know?’ And he said to me, “So, what would you say about me?” »

The reality star tearfully said he told her bluntly: “When I look at a future, I don’t see you there.”

She said his own response was “lovely” and that he made “a great effort” by being chivalrous and introducing her to his parents and roommate.

And even though the couple has been together for what some would consider a short time, that’s not the case for her.

It’s a “very long time” because she’s “living in this very strange state in my life where I don’t know myself anymore, and I’m trying to become the new me or whatever and love her too, even though she’s very different,” Mellencamp said.

The 45-year-old noted that Conley, 31, has become “my person.”

“He makes me feel comfortable,” she said. “Also, I have trouble walking and doing things, climbing steps. He helped me through all that.”

Mellencamp is the mother of three children with ex-husband Edwin Arroyave, whom she married in 2011 and separated from in 2024. She was previously married to Matt Robertson in 2006, but they called it quits in 2008.
