Fundraiser created to help wife pay her medical bills

– A 63-year-old Templeton man died of West Nile virus, according to his family and social media posts. Mike Colleran has been described as a beloved member of the Templeton community.

His wife, Cyndee Colleran, is facing medical bills and a GoFundMe fundraiser has been created to support her.

California is experiencing its highest West Nile virus activity in five years, with 452 human cases and 29 deaths statewide through Oct. 23, according to the California West Nile virus website.

West Nile virus is spread through mosquito bites. Health officials recommend using insect repellent, disposing of standing water and making sure window screens are in good condition.
