In her first public statement since footage of an airport incident with her daughter Milania Giudice surfaced online, Teresa Giudice is asking the public and media for compassion and privacy “during an extremely vulnerable time” in Milania’s life. Monday, the The Real Housewives of New Jersey The star posted a lengthy message to her Instagram Stories, explaining that she felt it was important to speak publicly while protecting her daughter.
“Milania experienced immense grief and psychological trauma after losing two of her best friends,” Teresa wrote. “Grief affects everyone differently, and watching your child try to deal with that kind of loss is something no parent can really prepare for.” In July, Milania’s childhood best friend, Victoria Zardoya, died in an accident during a trip to Egmont Key, near Tampa, Florida.
In her statement, Teresa added that her only goal is to make sure Milania is surrounded by the love and support she needs. Although she understands that the public will be curious, her daughter is a young woman going through something incredibly difficult. “She deserves the opportunity to heal without having every moment of her pain analyzed publicly,” Teresa wrote. “I ask, from one mother to another, and from one family to all of you, to show Milania compassion and kindness and give her the privacy she needs at this time.”
Last week, Milania posted and quickly deleted a video showing her mother and sister, Gia, at Tampa International Airport with police walking alongside the family. In the video, Milania asks: “Is this what we do now? while Teresa tells him that she loves him and wants to “save his life”. According to the incident report obtained by “Page Six,” Milania, who had just been released from the hospital, ran away from her mother, sister and a counselor at the airport. Milania’s manager, Maria DeSantis, said Milania is “currently surrounded by people who love her and is under the care of professionals who work with her and her family.”
