‘The Batman Part II’ interrupts Matt Reeves’ production
EXCLUSIVE: Production is on pause at Warner Bros and DC Studios peak The Batman Part II due to director Matt Reeves leaving for personal reasons.
The studio released a statement on the matter on Monday. “Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily suspended while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” he said. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”
Before the break, filming was underway in London. The film is scheduled to be released on February 18, 2028. Sources say it is too early to say whether the shutdown will have an effect on the release date.
The cast includes Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell returning as Batman, Alfred and Penguin respectively, with new additions Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham and Sebastian Koch.
