The Elder Scrolls 6 Subtitle Reportedly Revealed Before Rumor Announcement
A new report claims that the next Elder Scrolls game will be titled The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel, with new story details.
According to The Verge, The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel is the title of Bethesda’s highly anticipated Skyrim sequel. This title has been rumored for a while now, but The Verge is putting extra weight on it. According to the media, the title of the game could be officially announced as early as next month, possibly in connection with the 15th anniversary of Skyrim or the 25th anniversary of the Xbox. The game would take place in Hammerfell and delve into the history of the titular artifacts, allowing players to discover their secrets for the first time.
This is all quite exciting and shows that the game is probably getting closer to release. While we don’t really know when to expect The Elder Scrolls 6, it wouldn’t be surprising if we heard more details next year ahead of a 2028 release. However, Bethesda likes to wait until its games are close to the finish line to really reveal everything, so we might wait a bit before getting raw gameplay.
The road to The Elder Scrolls 6 has been quite a long one, as Bethesda announced the game back in 2018. At that point, the game was still in the very early stages of pre-production. It may not have even really been anything more than a concept at that point, since Bethesda was full steam ahead on Starfield, which wouldn’t be released for another five years from that point. Since Starfield’s shipment, The Elder Scrolls 6 has become a major priority and the studio’s goal for the future.
While there’s a lot going on in and around Bethesda with future Fallout games, re-releases, and Starfield updates, The Elder Scrolls 6 seems to be hogging most of the developers’ attention. The only question now is: will it be worth waiting so long?
