The Galaxy Z Fold 8 beats the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro Max and I couldn’t be happier

THE The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has enjoyed resounding success ever since Samsung, so much so that I wouldn’t be surprised if its successor adopted better cameras and the Ultra moniker. But aside from being a much-loved phone that’s converting people to foldables, the Fold 8 is also stealing the show in the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

I was torn between the Fold 8, the S26 Ultraand the iPhone 18 Pro Max. That’s why I turned to you.

In a survey I asked you which of the three phones you would choose. More than 44 percent of you opted for the Galaxy Z-fold 8 just because of how fun and addictive the new form factor is. The Fold 8 has been winning hearts since its release and most of you also seem to love it the most.

Meanwhile, almost 40 percent of those surveyed opted for the Galaxy S26 Ultra instead. While the Fold 8 may be a more fun phone, the S26 Ultra is the cutting-edge flagship product. Provided of course that you are not affected by the display. Some people experience nausea or headaches when using the S26 Ultra.

In last place, with less than 16 percent of the vote, was iPhone 18 Pro Max. Sure, the new burgundy color looks great and some people might find the phone much more refined than any Android flagship, but it’s clearly not many people’s choice in 2026. So, what about you?

The Fold 8 is the best phone of the three, in my opinion. I was leaning toward switching to iOS a while ago, but it’s clear to me that most of you made what seems to me to be the smarter choice. Will we miss the telephoto lens? Yes, absolutely. But I’d be lying if I said the lavender Fold 8 didn’t speak to me unlike any other phone in recent years. Many people choose the Fold 8 as their first everyday foldable vehicle, and I think I’m about to join their ranks.
