‘The View’ Host Ana Navarro Eviscerates Prince Harry Over Public Call for Family Reconciliation: ‘Pick Up the Phone’
Ana Navarro definitely did not approve of Prince Harry’s recent call for reconciliation with his brother, Prince William.
On Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” the co-hosts discussed the Duke of Sussex’s GQ interview, published Tuesday, in which he insisted that resolving his issues with his brother was the “most important thing.”
“I think a lot of the problem was exacerbated by the fact that this happened in public. A lot of the dirty laundry was aired in public. Surely they have relatives in common, friends in common,” Navarro, 54, said.
“I just think if he had delivered that message privately now, maybe it would go further than continuing to do it publicly, because there was a breach of trust and there was a lot of harm done on both sides,” Navarro continued.
The commentator said their consequences should have been dealt with out of public view.
“This needs to be handled privately, not with interviews and tell-all books and selling documentaries and things like that,” Navarro said.
“At some point he’s going to have to pick up the phone or go to his brother and talk about it,” she said.
However, co-host Sunny Hostin pointed out that she “suspects” Harry, 42, has tried to do it before.
“I suspect one of the reasons he’s saying publicly he wants to reconcile is so they’ll hear him,” Hostin, 58, theorized.
Whoopi Goldberg, who personally knows the “Spare” author, admitted that she thought the siblings would eventually make peace with each other.
The host’s comment comes after Harry told GQ he wanted to work things out with his brother.
“I want it to work. Of course I do,” Harry said, while noting that “some people don’t want it to work.”
He said that with everything going on in the world, reconciliation is “the key point” and said he was “grieving” his estrangement from William.
The two siblings split after a series of public allegations made by Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, against the royal family.
In 2021, Markle and Harry sat down for a tell-all interview with Oprah, during which she claimed that an unnamed member of the royal family had raised concerns about the skin color of their now 7-year-old son, Prince Archie.
She also claimed she had mental health issues, including suicidal thoughts.
The couple made even more allegations against the family in their 2022 Netflix documentary, “Harry and Meghan,” as well as Harry’s 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
In the book, Harry called his brother his “arch enemy” and claimed his brother physically attacked him.
However, despite their split, Page Six exclusively revealed that Harry and Markle returned to England with their two children, Archie, 7, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 5.
The couple returned to be closer to Harry’s father, King Charles, and to ensure their children were close to their family.
Earlier this month, the couple made their first joint public appearance since returning, visiting various charities in Nottingham.
