As a reminder, the newly remastered version of The Witcher 3 is an update to the current Complete Edition of the RPG, and this patch will be around 45 GB.
Marcin Momot, head of CD Projekt Red, revealed the download size of the update across all platforms in time for this weekend, confirming that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will have the same amount of data to download. It’s a little bigger on Nintendo Switch 2 (50 GB), but the same on PC.

The developer previously confirmed that this new remastered version of the game essentially replaced the existing Complete Edition – it would not be a separate, standalone version. Therefore, all your save data and trophy data will remain and work for the remastered version.
With so much new coming during this September and October period, I’m not sure returning to The Witcher 3 is the best thing to do right now, but another part seems like a great way to spend your Christmas break. With the new Songs of the Past expansion releasing in 2027, you’ll be able to get a fully completed save game with current content and be ready to dive into this DLC next year.
