Thomas Markle Sr. seen in public for first time since child pornography allegations
Thomas Markle Sr. has been seen in public for the first time since investigations into child sexual abuse images allegedly found in his Philippines home.
Markle Sr., 82, was seen Saturday being moved between care facilities in Lakeland, Fla., in photos obtained by Page Six. The former Hollywood lighting director was pushed in a wheelchair by assistants.
Markle Sr. left his home in Cebu in May for Florida following a stroke that led to a blood clot and the amputation of his left leg.
Last week, news broke that Thomas Jr. allegedly found “hundreds, if not thousands” of child sexual abuse images in four large boxes at his father’s home.
Thomas Jr., 60, told The Sun that he was looking for a phone belonging to Thomas Sr.’s much younger Filipina girlfriend when he came across the purported photos “mixed with innocent family memories.”
Thomas Jr. said he was “horrified” by the “huge piles of evidence” and felt he had “no choice but to report” his father.
Thomas Sr. then accused his son of telling “sick lies” and described the “bull-t” allegations as “the worst thing anyone could accuse (him) of.”
However, Thomas Sr.’s daughter Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry in May 2018, told Page Six that she learned of her estranged father’s alleged wrongdoing after the wedding via a letter sent to London’s Metropolitan Police, and has kept her distance from her father since, out of concern for her young children, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5.
Meanwhile, Samantha Markle, Thomas Sr.’s daughter, defended her father amid the allegations, saying her brother Thomas Jr. “wants revenge.”
Thomas Sr. could face charges following a thorough investigation, Page Six reported Saturday.
The Department of Justice’s Regional Prosecutor’s Office VII (Central Visayas, Philippines) told us Friday that “appropriate legal action may be taken” once investigators complete “the examination of the alleged devices and other materials.”
The regional prosecutor confirmed that the Cebu Police Office, through its Women and Children Protection Unit, obtained a warrant to search “devices and other materials handed over to the police” by Thomas Jr.
