More than 2,000 baby bath seats are being recalled due to a hazard that federal regulators say could potentially cause injury or death to children.
About 2,140 ONTHEWEI brand baby bath seats are affected by the recall, posing a risk of “serious injury or death from drowning,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in an advisory last week.
“The recalled bath seats violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats because they are unstable and may tip over during use, posing a risk of serious injury or death by drowning,” the notice states.

The affected items were sold on Amazon in April for between $40 and $50.
The bath seats were sold in gray, pink, blue and mist green. They feature removable retaining arms and suction cups on the underside.
“Model Number: MY002” and “Manufacturer’s Date: 2026/1/10” are printed on a label located on the back of the item.

“Consumers will be asked to destroy the bath seat by writing in permanent marker ‘RECALLED’ on the front of the bath seat, disassembling it by removing the back and armrests and cutting off the three suction cups under the seat” and sending the company a photo of the destroyed bath seat showing the marked product, the recall notice states.
ONTHEWEI and Amazon did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ requests for comment.
