Tom Cruise has praised Prince William’s “smart choice” to marry Kate Middleton.
At the Los Angeles premiere of Cruise’s new film “Digger” on Monday, the “Top Gun” star recalled his pleasant interactions with the Prince and Princess of Wales at the film’s world premiere in London last week.
“She has a great sense, an incredible sense of humor,” the actor told “Extra” about Middleton.
“I mean, obviously very smart and fun…they’re so charismatic and so elegant; that dress she wore? Stunning, absolutely beautiful,” he added, referring to the mother of three’s long-sleeved purple Jenny Packham dress.
“William did well,” Cruise, 64, added with a wink. “Well done. Smart choice.”
The “Mission: Impossible” star said it was “so much fun” to watch the royal couple watch the film and “be a part of it.”
“I have so much respect for them, you know, they are amazing people and how dedicated they are to their country and also… what they give to the world,” he said.
“They’re just beautiful, fun people, very funny,” Cruise exclaimed.
The action star mingled with William and Middleton, both 44, last Tuesday at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square.

Several other stars were in attendance, including Salma Hayek, David Beckham and his two youngest sons, Cruz Beckham and Romeo Beckham, Jodie Turner-Smith and many others.
William and Middleton were married in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London.
The couple shares three children: Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8.
