Mike Vrabel is in his 27th season as a player or coach in the NFL.
Yet tonight marks his first career regular season game at Soldier Field.
Larry Mayer from the Bears team website reported this statistic which seems impossible.
Vrabel played for the Steelers (1997-2000), Patriots (2001-08) and Chiefs (2009-10); he was an assistant with the Texans (2014-17); and he was the head coach of the Titans (2018-23) and Patriots (2025-present).
He never played or coached in the NFC, limiting the number of times his teams faced the Bears on the road.
The only away game Vrabel played against the Bears was in 2002 as a Patriots player. The Bears, however, played their home games in Champaign, Illinois that season while Soldier Field was being renovated.
The Patriots won 33-30.
As Ben Volin of the Boston Globe points out, Vrabel’s Titans played preseason games at Soldier Field in 2019 and 2023.
