key background
Trump has long been a fierce critic of Cooper, the judge who ruled in May that the Kennedy Center board cannot unilaterally rename the venue “Trump-Kennedy Center,” saying that doing so requires congressional approval and violates the law that designates the institution as a memorial to former President John F. Kennedy. After Cooper’s initial decision in May, Trump attacked in a lengthy post, calling Cooper “Barack Hussein Obama’s judge” while also targeting his wife, Amy Jeffress, who works as an attorney for former President Joe Biden.
