TV show host sends drone into model’s face – blaming her shoes for accident
A comedy show host inexplicably launched a production drone on live television, sending the device directly into a model’s face before blaming her shoes for the accident.
Ernesto Chavana of Mexican TV show “Es Show” kicked the drone during Monday’s show and it hit Isabella “La Colombiana” Rojas, leaving the model with a bloody mouth, according to the Sun.
As onlookers looked on gasping, Chavana was heard telling staff: “See what you’ve done,” in a bizarre attempt to dodge blame before apologizing on air and claiming his shoes might be at fault.
“I’m really sorry. I’m responsible for what just happened,” Chavana said.
“I feel very ashamed and embarrassed for what I just did,” he continued.
“I kicked that thing they put in front of me…I don’t know, maybe it was my new shoes.”
Es Show crew members were looking after Rojas behind the scenes, the Sun reported.
The production team at Canal 6 – which broadcasts “Es Show” – plans to cover Rojas’ medical costs and other damages, according to Mexican media outlet Cronica.
Rojas, a major player on “Es Show,” started as a content creator before joining the Monterrey, Mexico-based program.
“Es Show” is a Spanish-language late-night comedy and variety show featuring games, dancing, comedy sketches, music and celebrity guests.
A sullen Chavana apologized again on Tuesday to reaffirm that he held himself responsible for the error.
“Here I am to face it,” he said in a video posted on X by POSTA.
“I’m not hiding. I’m aware of the mistake I made yesterday by kicking a drone during a situation that was on the agenda,” he continued.
“I apologized to Isabella on air and took full responsibility for the event.”
