Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum started for the Bears
Would it be Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum in the Bears’ starting lineup Sunday against the Jets?
Why not both?
The always cheeky Ben Johnson put both players on the field for the Bears’ first drive. Keenum served as quarterback and Bagent got plenty of separation.
Keenum handed the ball off, then he went out.
The move technically prevents the Bears from joining the 1997 Jaguars with three different starting quarterbacks in four games. But it’s still Bagent at quarterback.
Starter Caleb Williams misses his second straight game with a hamstring injury.
As Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported earlier today, Johnson told the team on Wednesday that Bagent would be the starter. He asked them to keep the information internal.
That worked until Friday morning, when we learned Bagent got first-team reps on Wednesday and Thursday.
