Two handshakes were extended during the faceoff in the main event of UFC Fight Night 291 on Friday. Neither were accepted.
UFC Fight Night 291 takes place Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and airs on Paramount+ and stars Joaquin Buckley vs. Mike Malott.
Buckley (21-8 MMA, 11-6 UFC) ignored the outstretched hand of Malott (14-2-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) – and that of UFC CEO Dana White – and instead chose to look through his opponent’s soul.
The co-main event also had some grumbles, although to a lesser extent. Women’s flyweights Erin Blanchfield and Jasmine Jasudavicius were all business.
Blanchfield (14-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) approached Jasudavicius (15-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) during the faceoff and didn’t appreciate the Canadian’s arm coming in her face as they turned toward the crowd.
