The 8e edition of the Meuse Agricultural Trophies will take place this Friday, September 11 at the Caroussel cinema in Verdun. Well established in the calendar, this event is organized by L’Est Républicain in partnership with the Meuse Chamber of Agriculture and the Meuse departmental council in the heart of the 45e edition of the Verdun National Fair.
Each year, the ceremony highlights all Meuse agricultural excellence. An agricultural sector and its main players who promote know-how and terroir well beyond the Meuse. Six trophies will be awarded during this event, demonstrating professional recognition.
The guest of honor of this 8e edition of the Agricultural Trophies will be the star TikToker, with 15 million views, Zoé la Gersoise. A 30-year-old graphic designer, who has shared the life of a farmer living in the Gers for 12 years. “A good living woman” as she describes herself, who highlights her daily life on social networks, attracting a wide audience with each publication.
Winners in six categories
Following a call for applications from professionals in the sector until June 3, a jury of partners met at the beginning of July at the Meuse departmental council to study the applications, vote and bring out three nominees, then designate a winner in the following six categories:
▶ Trophy for the renewal of generations in agriculture : “This trophy will highlight the farmers who, through their installation, their transfer of operations or their diversification, contribute to the dynamism and sustainability of Meuse agriculture. »
▶ Women’s Agriculture Trophy: “This trophy will celebrate the essential role of women in Meuse agriculture. It will reward women farmers who stand out for their leadership, their commitment, their creativity and their contribution to the diversity and richness of the agricultural sector. »
▶ Meuse Excellence Trophy: “This trophy will promote exceptional products from the Meuse region, such as Meaux brie made in Meuse, Meuse wine and many others. It will reward companies which, through their know-how and passion, promote the quality and authenticity of local production. »
▶ Tomorrow’s Agriculture Trophy : “This trophy will reward farmers who stand out for their innovative practices, whether in terms of environmental preservation, work organization or the development of new technologies. It will highlight initiatives that contribute to more sustainable agriculture. »
▶ Territory Animation Trophy : “This trophy will reward farmers and associations who are actively involved in the life of their territory, by participating in collective actions contributing to good living in the Meuse. »
▶ Agricultural Education Trophy : “This trophy will reward an agricultural establishment which, as part of its teaching activities, leads students in a class, or more, to reflect on their vision of the agriculture of tomorrow, through the production of a video, which will address the quality of life, production and the involvement of agriculture in the region. »
And the crush…
The ceremony will be punctuated by a “favorite, out of category” Trophy awarded by the jury, “rewarding an actor or structure whose activity, commitment during the year, deserves special attention”.
My beautiful village
Please note that the prize for the Mon beau village operation, organized by L’Est Républicain, will be awarded during this ceremony. Six municipalities selected and presented during the summer: Sampigny, Vaux-lès-Palameix, Marville, Mauvages, Nonsard-Lamarche, Les Éparges. They were submitted to a public vote.
