Two weeks ago, we told you that some left-handed consumers were wondering if they could comfortably hold and use the foldable iPhone Duo with one hand. One reason for this is the lack of Face ID on the Duo, which might require a left-hander to reach for the phone to tap the Touch ID sensor.
Why some left-handed people might have trouble using iPhone Duo one-handed
Another problem is that the vertical app dock is on the right side of the internal screen, making it a tricky stretch for a left-hander. The latter issue is one that Apple could apparently improve for left-handed users via a software update adding an option to move the dock to the other side.
When to expect Apple to add Face ID to iPhone Duo
There is speculation that Apple will add Face ID in the third generation Duo. No hardware changes are likely to be made for next year Foldable iPhone. If you’re waiting for a version of the Duo with a telephoto lens, you’ll probably have to wait until 2028. iPhone Duo.

The external screen posed no problems and it seemed that any area of the 5.4 inch external screen was accessible with the iPhone Duo held in a user’s left hand. Another important factor is the size of the user’s hands. A very large paw can compensate for a iPhone Duo user’s tendency to favor their left hand.
I’ve stayed away from foldable devices for now, fearing that opening the internal screen, while traveling, will make me unstable and cause me to drop the Duo on the floor.
When will Apple start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone Duo?
Apple will begin accepting pre-orders for the iPhone Duo on October 16. The first Foldable iPhone will be released exactly one week later, on October 23. Pricing starts at $1,999 for the unit with 256GB of storage and goes up to $3,199 for the variant with 2TB of storage.
The official iPhone Duo Apple’s case will cost $79 in sand or navy. Pre-orders for first-party cases also begin on October 16, with a release date of October 23.
A MagSafe charger for the foldable with a 1 meter (3.28 feet) or 2 meters (6.56 feet) long cable will cost $39 and $49, respectively. A 40W dynamic power adapter with 60W maximum will be available from Apple for $39.
If you are left-handed, getting used to the iPhone Duo Maybe it’s not as bad as first thought. But before spending that much money on a new phone, you might want to wait until October 23, when you can test out the foldable at your nearest Apple Store.
