Vikings-Saints final injury report | Daily Norwegian
The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints have released their final injury reports, along with injury designations, ahead of their Sunday afternoon game at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans. Here they are.
Injury Reporting Terms and Glossary
Definitions of injury designations:
Probable = The league defines a probable injury designation as a playing chance of 75% or greater. Historically, 95% of players designated as probable are active and playing on game day.
Questionable = The league defines a questionable injury designation as being “uncertain” as to whether or not the player will play. This replaces the old definition of having a 50% chance of playing. Historically, 70-75% of players with a questionable injury designation were active and playing on game day.
Questionable = The league defines a questionable injury designation to mean that the player is unlikely to participate in the game. Concretely, teams use this designation when a player has less than a 50% chance of dressing, and active in-game appearances under this designation remain rare. Historically, only about 6% of players with the Questionable designation are active and playing on game day.
Out = will not play. Players with this designation are not active on game day and league rules prohibit them from playing.
For the Vikings, some intrigue with a number of players listed as questionable, including Jordan Addison, Justin Jefferson and Brian O’Neill. I’m going to go out on a limb and say all three will play on Sunday. I know they’ll be careful with all of them, but it doesn’t look like Jefferson has had any ankle issues all week. It appears Addison and O’Neill’s injuries are more of the minor type they will be playing against.
It’s no surprise at this point that Christian Darrisaw is out, since he hadn’t practiced all week. He should be ready to go after the bye week.
I don’t know if Michael Jurgens and Ben Yurosek will be active on Sunday or not. The Vikings will have to make some roster moves for that to happen and so it becomes more of a roster issue than a health issue for both.
For the Saints, Alvin Kamara is questionable but I assume he will play on Sunday. Safety Julian Blackmon is also questionable but will likely play as well. These are the two key players on the Saints roster this week. All others are either listed as absent, have no designation and/or are a backup.
Kevin O’Connell said with Jefferson, Addison and O’Neill, those would be game day decisions. Stay tuned.
