COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Republican Vivek Ramaswamy holds a slight 47-45% advantage over Democrat Amy Acton in the race for Ohio governor, according to a survey conducted October 16-23, 2026 by Echelon Insights for technology industry group NetChoice.

Libertarian Don Kissick shot 4%.

Because the two-point margin is well within the survey’s 5.2 percentage point margin of error, the contest remains a statistical stalemate with a week until Election Day in Ohio.

Echelon Insights is an established polling company that samples verified voter files.

Other key findings

  • Status Issue 3: 70% of Ohio voters support the proposed constitutional amendment requiring a photo ID to vote, while 28% oppose it.
  • Main concern of voters: Inflation and the cost of living dominated voters’ priorities at 57 percent, surpassing foreign policy (24 percent) and health care costs (21 percent).
  • Antitrust & AI: 73% of respondents support applying consumer welfare standards to antitrust enforcement, 86% want antitrust laws to be applied equally to all businesses, and 70% believe Congress, not individual states, should set national rules on AI.

NOTE: This survey was commissioned by an industry trade association to test the public’s opinion of the technology.

The survey surveyed a sample of 508 likely Ohio voters via online, text and panel invitations.
