The trap of military escalation in Iran is closing on Donald Trump. The death of two American soldiers on Friday July 17, killed in strikes carried out by Tehran in Jordan, is a bitter response to the decision of the President of the United States to relentlessly bomb his adversary in the hope of making him loosen his grip on the Strait of Hormuz. The news of the death of the two soldiers came on Saturday, just after Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei assured that his country would have “unforgettable lessons” to inflict on the United States. “The repeated violation” of the memorandum of understanding by Washington “once again demonstrated to everyone that the signature of the American president is worthless”he added. The United States does not say anything else about Tehran, which it accuses of not having respected its commitment to let commercial ships circulate freely in the Strait of Hormuz.
