WATCH: Gov. Wes Moore and GOP challenger Dan Cox face off in Maryland gubernatorial debate

Gov. Wes Moore, a possible 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, is expected to face a familiar GOP opponent, former state Rep. Dan Cox, in a debate Tuesday as he seeks a second term as Maryland’s chief executive.

The broadcast begins at 7 p.m. EDT. Watch the debate live, produced by Maryland Public Television, in the video player above.

The debate is the only one scheduled between Moore and Cox, who also faced each other in the 2022 gubernatorial election. Moore, then a political newcomer, defeated Cox to become the first black governor in Maryland history.

The Cook Political Report ranks the race as a Solid D.
